About our customers

As of right now, we mostly develop proptech solutions for German businesses. However, in the past we've developed platforms for insurance brokers, leasing consultants, event agencies, foundries and farmers around Europe and Asia. Our projects are more focused on business-to-business collaborations. The most recent project is a video conferencing platform for facilioo in order to assist owners meetings (Eigentümerversammlungen) which are both on-site and digital.

The project manager shall communicate with both the customers (incl. domain experts) and development team. He or she should create and keep track of the roadmaps. Along with the customer, the vision should be transformed into a well-thought product throughout multiple iterations. The development team shall be integrated in the process by providing the requirements as issues on GitHub and by answering questions along the way. Therefore, he or she should handle questions by both the customer and development team by acting as an interface between them.

Tools

As of right now, our project and product management is highly focused around our developers. We're using GitHub for development and create all requirements (EPICs, User Stories, Tasks) as issues on GitHub. GitHub Projects is used to visualize the issues on a Kanban-like board througout the iteration in order to keep track of the progress. Some customers use other project management tools like Factro, Asana and Trello to keep track of their process.

About freiheit.software

We've got a dedicated designer to create concepts and visual prototypes of the software to develop. Along with the customer, the product owner writes down requirements of the software while those are visualized as wireframes and mockups in collaboration with our designer. This process is based on iterations in order to continuously incorporate the ideas and needs of our customers. As we are collaborating with a lot of property management companies and are member of multiple associations, we've got a great network of domain experts to rely on. After a couple of weeks and multiple iterations, we've got a written concept besides a visual prototype. That concept is pitched to our domain and legal experts, the customer and our development team. We've got a Scrum-like development process with iterations of around 2 weeks. Our product owner is in charge of communicating all requirements to our developers and to answer questions along the way. With every iteration, we create a working increment of the software which is presented to our customer and deployed to production. We integrate the feedback from the presentations and embed it into future iterations. The requirements are tracked in EPICs, User Stories and developer-created tasks with implementation details.
